Preamble

This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how DriveGoNow ("DriveGoNow", "we", "us" or "our"), a company incorporated in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, collects, uses, shares and protects the personal data of users (the "User" or "You") of the website drivegonow.com and its associated services (the "Platform").

DriveGoNow operates an intermediary (brokerage) platform that connects Users wishing to rent a vehicle in Dubai with independent third-party vehicle rental companies (the "Rental Companies").

By using the Platform, You acknowledge that You have read this Policy. It supplements our Terms and Conditions, of which it forms an integral part.

1. Data Controller

The controller of the data collected through the Platform is DriveGoNow, a company incorporated in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

2. Data We Collect

2.1. Data you provide directly

  • Identification and contact data: first name, last name, e-mail address, telephone number.
  • Booking-request data: dates and locations of pick-up and return, the type or model of vehicle requested, and any information you provide as part of your request.
  • The content of the communications you send us (messages, support requests).

2.2. Data collected automatically

  • Technical and connection data collected through our standard server logs: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, language, pages visited, date and time of access, and referring source.
  • Data collected by strictly necessary cookies (see Article 7).

2.3. Data we do not collect

DriveGoNow does not take part in the payment of the rental: we do not collect or store your bank card or payment details relating to the rental. Payment is made directly to the Rental Company, in accordance with the terms defined by it.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

We process your data for the following purposes:

  • Providing the intermediation service: processing and transmitting your booking request to the relevant Rental Company. (Legal basis: performance of pre-contractual steps / of the requested service.)
  • Communicating with you: responding to your requests, informing you of the status of a booking request, and providing support. (Legal basis: performance of the service / legitimate interest.)
  • Maintaining and securing the Platform: ensuring the security, integrity and proper functioning of the service, and preventing fraud and abuse. (Legal basis: legitimate interest.)
  • Complying with our legal obligations: responding to a legal or regulatory obligation, or to a request from a competent authority. (Legal basis: legal obligation.)

We do not use your data to send you marketing communications, and we do not carry out advertising profiling.

4. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following cases:

4.1. With the Rental Companies. When you make a booking request, the data necessary to process it is transmitted to the relevant Rental Company, for the sole purpose of processing and performing the rental. The Rental Company then acts as an independent data controller for the data it receives, and its own processing is governed by its own privacy policy.

4.2. With our service providers. We may use technical service providers (hosting, maintenance) acting on our behalf and bound by confidentiality and security obligations.

4.3. With authorities. We may disclose your data where required by law, in the context of legal proceedings, or to protect our rights, our safety or those of a third party.

5. International Data Transfers

The Platform's data is hosted in France (European Union). As DriveGoNow is established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, your data may be accessed from or transferred to the United Arab Emirates. Where such transfers take place, we take appropriate measures to ensure an adequate level of protection in accordance with applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Data relating to a booking request: for the time necessary to process the request, then for the period required for evidentiary purposes, the handling of disputes, and compliance with our legal obligations.
  • Contact and communication data: for the duration of our relationship, then in accordance with applicable legal periods.
  • Technical data and cookies: see Article 7.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Platform uses only strictly necessary cookies, required for it to function properly and to remember your preferences (such as your language). These cookies do not require your consent.

We do not use analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

You can configure your browser at any time to refuse or delete cookies. Refusing certain cookies may affect the functioning of the Platform.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. However, no transmission of data over the internet and no storage system can be guaranteed to be entirely secure; we therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

In accordance with applicable data protection law (in particular the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and, where applicable, the GDPR for relevant Users), you have the following rights:

  • the right to access your data;
  • the right to rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • the right to erasure of your data;
  • the right to object to or restrict processing;
  • the right to data portability;
  • the right to withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on it;
  • the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

10. Minors

The Platform is not directed at minors and is not intended to knowingly collect data concerning persons below the legally required age. Renting a vehicle is in any event subject to the age and licence conditions required by the Rental Company. If you believe that a minor has provided us with data, please contact us so that we can delete it.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, in particular those of the Rental Companies. We exercise no control over these third parties and disclaim all responsibility for their data practices. We encourage you to review their own privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Policy at any time. The applicable version is the one in force at the date of your use of the Platform. In the event of a material change, we will endeavour to inform you by appropriate means. We encourage you to review this page regularly.
